Group Training Beats Private Coaching for Lacrosse
Small group training is the most effective way to develop complete lacrosse players. At The Lacrosse Barn, every session is capped at eight athletes to ensure high repetition, constant feedback, and true game-speed development.
This hybrid model delivers the best of both worlds: the individual attention of private training combined with the pace, competition, and decision-making required in real play. Athletes are challenged to anticipate, read, react, and adapt in live environments where every rep has purpose. Each session is intentionally designed and led by elite coaches who understand what it takes to succeed at the highest levels.

Everything You Need to Know
Common questions about training, pricing, and what to expect when you join.
How many kids in a group?
Maximum 8 athletes per session. This ensures you get individualized attention while still training in a competitive group environment. Every athlete gets reps, corrections, and coaching.
Why group training over privates?
Lacrosse is a reactionary sport. You don't play against air - you play against defenders who pressure you and force you to make split-second decisions. Private training is great for wall ball and static drills, but you can't simulate game speed alone. Even professional players need a body to work off of. Our small group format (maximum 8 athletes) gives you individualized coaching while training in the live competition environment you need to actually improve. You'll develop faster because you're learning to execute under real pressure, not just drilling in isolation.
What age groups do you train?
We train athletes starting at 4th grade through high school (grades 4-12), with youth classes available for younger players. Sessions are separated by grade level and gender to ensure appropriate competition and skill development. We also offer college training during specific seasons for athletes looking to stay sharp during off-season or breaks.
How is this different from my club team practice?
Club practices focus on team strategy and plays. Our small group training focuses on individual skill development, speed, strength integration, and 1v1 situations you'll face in games. Think of it as sharpening the tools you use in team settings
My child wants private training. Why should I choose group?
Because lacrosse is a reactionary sport. You need live competition to develop game speed and decision-making. Private training is great for wall ball and static drills, but you can't simulate the chaos of a real game alone. Our small group format gives you the individual attention of private training with the competitive edge you need to actually improve.
How quickly will I see results?
Most athletes notice improvements within 4-6 weeks of consistent training (1-2 sessions per week). Stick skills, shooting accuracy, and footwork improve quickly. Long-term development (lacrosse IQ, strength, speed) builds over 3-6 months.
Do you offer package pricing?
Yes. We sell 12-pack and 24-pack packages which reduce the cost per individual class. Purchase your package directly at https://thelacrossebarn.ezfacility.com/Package.
